As part of the FWF-funded research project RETREX (Rethinking Translation Expertise: A Workplace Study), the Socotrans team regularly gathers for analysis workshops, where the fruits of the field research in authentic workplace settings are collected and examined. The researchers follow every promising lead that could contribute to understanding the 'lived' expertise of working professionals in the language industry. And thus to the big question of how translation expertise is understood and constructed by those working in the sector.
