After a two-year research stay, it was with a heavy heart that the Socotrans team had to say goodbye to their visiting researcher, Celia Martín de Léon (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). We wish Celia all the best and look forward to seeing her again soon!

Celia Martín de León is Associate Professor of Translation at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Her research interests include conceptual metaphors and implicit theories of translation, as well as the processes of translation and interpreting from an embodied and embedded perspective, with special emphasis on meaning construction and imagination. She is currently researching co-speech gestures performed by simultaneous interpreters, and has authored several articles and book contributions on all these topics.
