Retrex team member Daniela Schlager recently braved the Finnish winter climate for a week-long visit to Tampere University, where she enjoyed fruitful discussions and seminars with translation and accounting scholars and gave a talk on feelings and self-reflexivity in (field) research.
A highlight of her visit was the PhD viva of Jenni Laaksonen, who explored the – so far largely neglected – impact of translation in the field of accounting. Laaksonen's innovative thesis Taking Translation into Account demonstrates a strong interdisciplinary approach, and its depth and breadth make it a highly recommended read. It can be accessed here.
